Zenless Zone Zero Roxy Build: Wind Stun, Teams, and Discs

Roxy is an S-Rank Wind Stun Agent from the Flint Workshop faction in Zenless Zone Zero, officially Claret Flint’s most trusted assistant and the workshop’s chief smith. In Version 3.2, her role is field-control Stunner: she groups enemies, builds Daze, extends Stun windows, feeds CRIT-related team buffs, and uses a Contamination / Windswept interaction that benefits both Armorer and Attack partners. She operates less like a blunt hammer and more like a storm cell with a ledger: every Energy point is entered, converted, and spent on a later downburst.

Core Loop and Kit

Roxy’s kit is one loop with three currencies: Energy, Wind Energy with a cap of 3, and Eyes of the Storm planted on the field. The loop is compact but unforgiving. Players spend Energy on her held EX Special, convert spent Energy into Wind Energy, end the tornado or follow-up to plant Eyes of the Storm, then detonate those Eyes into tracking tornadoes and a heavy hammer finisher. Chain Attack and Ultimate either refund or spend that resource again while the squad dumps damage into the Stun window.

EX Special Attack — Watch for the Chill / Rest in Peace: Holding the EX Special makes Roxy slide, then enter Spin. She becomes the tornado, steering it with the joystick, draining Energy, and shredding anything in the path. When Spin ends, she automatically follows with Rest in Peace, spends all Wind Energy, fires a wind cannon, and drops one Eye of the Storm per Wind Energy spent. If three Eyes are already out, the hammer follow-up detonates them into tracking twisters. Windswept hits during this sequence can proc the previous Agent’s Quick Assist, which is the swap hook for Claret.

Core Passive — First Embrace Under the Moon: Every 20 Energy spent grants 1 Wind Energy, up to 3. If Roxy’s initial Energy Regen exceeds 1.2, every 0.01 over that line gives +6 ATK, capped at +1,152, and +0.4 Impact, capped at +77. Cleanse interactions on Windswept or Contamination enemies convert her extra CRIT Rate into squad CRIT DMG for non-Armorer allies or Laceration DMG for Armorer allies. That is why Disc 4 is CRIT Rate, not CRIT DMG.

Additional Ability — Porcelloy Heart: Roxy needs an Attack, Rupture, or Armorer teammate. Her personal DMG scales with her level, enemies take +30% Stun DMG Multiplier while being hit by the squad, Stun duration extends by 2s, Windswept lasts longer, and she refunds a chunk of Energy on field entry. This is why she is not a pair-with-anyone Anomaly Stunner; her Additional Ability is gated.

Ultimate — Requiem of the Buried Night: A wide-front Wind nuke with invulnerable frames and a Wind Energy refund on some versions of the kit. It should start or refresh a Stun window, not serve as a panic button.

Mindscapes and Practical Stops

  • M1: Rest in Peace applies 15% All-Attribute RES shred and +30% personal CRIT DMG.

  • M2: Detonated Eyes buff the next Spin’s Daze; Spin can persist briefly after a swap; extra Stun DMG Multiplier on hit.

  • M4: Energy refunds on Defensive Assist and Dodge Counter; Ultimate DMG and Daze up.

  • M6: Further Wind RES ignore and Eye detonation upgrades.

The practical stopping point for most accounts is M0–M2. M1 is the first ‘this feels premium’ stop.

Field Routine

Roxy should not be treated like Qingyi or Anby. Mashing Basic Attacks starves her Wind Energy. The standard field window is more deliberate: swap in on a Quick Assist or after a parry; hold EX Special and steer the tornado through the pack for Daze and grouping; release when Energy is low or Eyes are ready; let Rest in Peace plant or detonate Eyes. If three Eyes are live, the hammer finisher is the go signal for the DPS. Chain Attack when the Stun bar breaks, because it restores Wind Energy, then swap to Claret, Ye Shunguang, or the carry for the Stun window. Roxy returns only to refresh tornadoes, parry, or use her Ultimate.

A critical caveat: Roxy’s CRIT Rate buffs need that stat in combat, not on the character screen with no buffs. She should sit at 50%+ CRIT Rate for King of the Summit and Core Passive floors, then push toward 75–80% for the full Cleanse / CRIT DMG share. Her Disc 6 Energy Regen is the ballast in a racing shell: invisible until the boat starts wobbling.

Build: W-Engines, Discs, and Skills

Crimson Moon Casket is the only engine that solves CRIT Rate, Wind RES ignore, EX-Special Daze, and a long squad DMG buff in one slot. Her signature is the difference between a good Stunner and Claret’s best partner. King of the Summit remains the Stun 4-piece of the era, and Roxy meets its 50% CRIT Rate condition on purpose.

Slot Main Stat Notes
Disc 4 CRIT Rate Feeds Core Passive and King of the Summit
Disc 5 ATK% or Wind DMG% Choose based on substats and team
Disc 6 Energy Regen Impact only if ER is already solved on the W-Engine and 2-pc

Substat order is CRIT Rate > ATK% > PEN Ratio > flat ATK. Impact is welcome but not a substat to force over CRIT Rate. Level Core Skill first; everything about her ATK/Impact conversion and Cleanse buff lives there. Then EX Special and Basic Attack, because her field time is those two. Ultimate comes next. Assist and Dodge last unless she is played parry-heavy.

Promotion and skill farm follows the standard Stun plus Wind package: Stun Certification Seals for Basic, Advanced, and Buster; Windbite Chips for Basic, Advanced, and Specialized; Hamster Cage Passes for skill 11–12; Notorious Hunt and Expert Challenge materials for Core Skill; and several million Dennies for full 60 / all skills.

Teams and Verdict

Roxy’s Additional Ability wants Attack, Rupture, or Armorer. That is the team-building rule. She is a poor Anomaly-core Stunner compared with agents who exist to force Disorder. The flagship team is Roxy with Claret and a Support: Roxy vacuums the pack, Claret spends the Stun window. Pyrois + Roxy + any built Support also works. Sigrid + Roxy fits the Season 3 Attack / Contamination line. Nicole in the third slot remains the cheapest grouping and shred option in the game. Bangboo choice should match the DPS attribute or be a Stun/generalist already leveled; Flint Workshop does not ship a dedicated Bangboo at launch.

Roxy is not a fire-and-forget Daze bot; she is a locksmith who also oils the hinges of the Stun window. Her current community rank is high-value Stun, T0–T1 depending on whether the account owns Claret. She is not a selfish hypercarry. She is the glue that makes Armorer and Attack teams hit their Stun windows harder and longer.

Pull her if: the account is building Claret and needs a Stun partner who also feeds CRIT Rate / Laceration value; the player wants a modern Wind Stunner who groups, extends Stun, and buffs non-Armorer CRIT DMG; or the player enjoys active Stun gameplay with a held tornado and detonation instead of a fire-and-forget Daze bot.

Skip or delay if: the account is Anomaly-locked and already has a finished Stun roster such as Norma, Nangong Yu, Dialyn, or Qingyi; or the player cannot commit Energy Regen on Disc 6 plus CRIT Rate on Disc 4. A half-built Roxy feels clumsy. Get the Energy Regen line right, keep CRIT Rate honest, and she becomes the Wind-shaped answer to every carry that needs a longer, cleaner Stun window in Version 3.2.
