Burnice in 2026: Fire Anomaly Build, Teams, and Version 2.5 Enhancements

Burnice remains Zenless Zone Zero's top off-field Fire Anomaly specialist, with a 2026 build that fuels Burn, Scorched, and Afterburn pressure.

I’ve been running Burnice again in 2026, and the headline is simple: she is still one of the most comfortable off-field Fire Anomaly specialists in Zenless Zone Zero. My latest tests line up with the community snapshot, where her score sits at 9.1/10, and they also confirm why Version 2.5 matters so much for her. Burnice is not a burst-only novelty. She is a Burn engine who keeps working after I swap her out, and that makes her unusually valuable in Disorder and mono-Fire setups.

Why Burnice Still Matters in 2026

Burnice’s identity comes from her Core Passive, Nitro-Fuel Cocktail. In practice, I start fights with her on-field, apply Fire Anomaly, trigger Burn, and build Heat. Once she has enough Heat, she enters the Nitro-Fuel Cocktail state, and her attacks can inflict Scorched on enemies. That is the key. Scorched enemies can be hit by any character to trigger Afterburn, which deals extra Fire damage. So when I swap off Burnice, I am not really losing her damage. My on-field character becomes the trigger for her off-field pressure.

That loop is why I still recommend her so highly. She applies Burn easily, she enables Disorder with another Anomaly unit of a different element, and she gives mono-Fire teams a reliable off-field damage source when Lucy is present. I also like her with main DPS units using Inferno Metal, because her Burn application can improve the uptime of that CRIT Rate buff. It is a small synergy on paper, but it feels smooth in real fights.

Best Build Snapshot

My 2026 Burnice build follows the same core logic as the guide: stack Anomaly stats and lean into off-field damage. She spends most of the fight off-field, so I do not build her like a traditional on-field hypercarry.

Build Area My Recommendation
Role Fire Anomaly and off-field Afterburn damage
Key stats Anomaly Mastery, Anomaly Proficiency, ATK
Best W-Engine Flamemaker Shaker
Alternative W-Engines Any option that gives ATK or Anomaly Proficiency
Drive Discs Anomaly-focused setup with Anomaly Mastery and Anomaly Proficiency
Skill priority Core Skill first, rest of kit next, Dodge last
Bangboo Keep the slot flexible around team energy and Anomaly needs

Flamemaker Shaker remains her best W-Engine in my testing because it boosts Energy Regen and damage while she is off-field. That matches her job. If I do not have it, I look for ATK or Anomaly Proficiency rather than forcing a crit build. Burnice is an Anomaly unit, and her damage pattern rewards consistent Burn and Afterburn application.

Skill Priority and Mindscape Notes

I max her Core Skill first. This is not a controversial choice. Her Core Skill improves Anomaly Buildup and Afterburn damage, which are the two numbers I care about most. After that, I invest in the rest of her kit and save Dodge for last. I know that sounds boring, but Burnice’s value is in her passive loop, not in dodge-counter highlights.

For Mindscapes, I do not chase M3 and M5 for raw power. Those nodes are mainly skill enhancement. The earlier and later mindscape levels are more interesting if I am already committed to her, but I would not treat every duplicate as equal value. My advice is to secure the build first, then decide whether extra copies fit the account.

Version 2.5 Agent Enhancements

This is the biggest 2026 update for Burnice. Her Agent Enhancements are now available with Version 2.5, and they improve her overall battle prowess once unlocked. Proxies activate them through the Potential Vision system, which requires exchanging Daily Performance earned from Ridu Weekly rewards. I like this because it gives long-term players a reason to keep engaging with weekly content while directly upgrading a favorite agent.

Once those enhancements are unlocked, Burnice gains improved mechanics and enhanced power levels. I would not call her a completely different character, but the upgrades make her off-field Burn plan feel more complete. For anyone who already invested in her, Version 2.5 is a strong reason to revisit the build.

How I Play Burnice

My opening rotation is straightforward. I start with Burnice on-field, damage enemies, and apply Fire Anomaly to trigger Burn and build Heat. When her Core Passive activates, I enter Nitro-Fuel Cocktail state and spread Scorched. Once enough enemies are Scorched, I swap to my on-field character and let Afterburn do the work.

The mistake I see most often is staying on Burnice too long. She can apply her status, but her best damage often happens after she leaves the field. I treat her like a pressure unit, not a permanent on-field attacker. That mindset makes her teams feel much cleaner.

Best Teams

Team Type Why It Works
Disorder pair Burnice applies Burn while a different-element Anomaly unit applies its own Attribute Anomaly for Disorder damage
Mono-Fire with Lucy Lucy enables the mono-Fire structure, and Burnice adds off-field Fire pressure
Main DPS plus Inferno Metal Burnice’s easy Burn application increases the CRIT Rate buff uptime for Inferno Metal users

I still prefer the Disorder route because it turns Burnice into both a damage contributor and a reaction enabler. The mono-Fire route is comfortable when Lucy is available, and the Inferno Metal synergy is a nice bonus for crit-based main DPS units.

How to Get Burnice in 2026

Burnice was available from the limited banner Born to Burn during Version 1.6, which ran from March 12, 2025 to April 2, 2025. Since I am writing in 2026, I would not tell anyone to expect her from a standard pull. The practical advice is to wait for a limited rerun and prepare materials in advance. I would pre-farm her promotion and skill materials before the banner returns, because her Core Skill investment matters more than last-minute panic farming.

The guide also tracks voice actor and lore details, which I treat as flavor rather than build data. For me, Burnice’s appeal is mechanical first: easy Burn, strong off-field presence, and a Version 2.5 enhancement path that keeps her relevant. If you want a Fire Anomaly unit who keeps contributing after the swap, she remains a excellent pick in 2026. 🔥
